The Quality Living Options Short Story Competition was announced at a function at the Bendigo Library on Sat 12 Dec 2015, and I had the honor of coming in first place.
The QLO Short Story Competition is a 1500 word competition, with this years theme being ‘Solutions’. The competition was judged by Dianne Dempsey and Peter Kenneally.
My story was titled Aaron and Amman, the winner was also announced in the Bendigo Weekly . The announcement is also on the QLO Facebook Page.
Quality Living Options is a not-for-profit group with the major concern being the appropriate care and accommodation of their intellectually disabled adult children when they are no longer able to care for them. QLO sponsors an annual short story competition. This years’s theme was Solutions.
The story will be printed in a future edition of the Bendigo Weekly, but there is also copy of the story on my webpage at Aaron and Amman. Please take the time to check out the QLO website and like them on Facebook, it’s certainly an organisation that deserves support.
I’d like to thank my beautiful wife, Claire, who has encouraged and supported me in writing, and who found the QLO Short Story competition and suggested I entered, and Tommy, my beautiful son, who has shown me the responsibilities of being a parent (oh, and he is just generally very cute).
